2023 onwards:
The Bloomsbury Handbook of Drawing Research A global survey of contemporary drawing research practice: new knowledge about drawing and new knowledge gained by drawing. Selected from a global, diverse, inclusive and interdisciplinary call for submissions, this Handbook curates and presents contributions which broadly define the field of drawing research in many formats including, but not exclusively, academic writing, visual essays, interviews, case studies, artworks, diagrams, manifestos, collaborations and statements. Find more information here. As part of this project, we are holding a Symposium on 3 November 2023. For more information, see here. If you would like to submit a proposal for inclusion in the book or Symposium, please download the call for papers here. |
2021: Exploring the Role of Drawing as a (Research) Tool for Collecting Data in Medical Practice
A collaborative research project between the UWE Psychological Sciences Research Group (PSRG) and UWE Drawing Research Group (DRG), with the aim to investigate, record and understand the current role of Drawing as a tool for collecting data in medical practice: with a specific focus on Drawing’s potential to record and translate information in situations where other (digital) data recording methods are either inappropriate or ineffective, such as in describing pain or recording ‘invisible’ ailments. |
